The manufacturing process of extruded panels

Due to its excellent thermal insulation performance, extruded panels are widely used in key industries. Although the production process of XPS type foam board is not complicated, we must pay close attention to all links in the process to ensure that the extruded board produced meets national and industry standards.

Typically, the following steps include the extruded polystyrene-type foam board manufacturing process:

1. Step 1

This is mainly a plasticizing stage. We should use an automatic feeder to feed polystyrene resin, combustion booster, nucleating agent and other materials into the plastic extruder of the first stage.

2. Step 2

The secondary foaming, mixing and cooling processes occupy most of the second stage. Before injecting the environmentally friendly CO₂ foaming agent, the raw materials and other auxiliary materials are fully plasticized in the extruder.

In the second stage of the extruder, the foaming agent will be thoroughly mixed with some other raw materials, cooled, and then extruded through the mold.

3. Step 3

After extrusion, the pressure is quickly released, and the foaming agent is wrapped in plastic, rapidly expanding to produce closed cells, and polystyrene plastic will form a foam board together with honeycomb cells under the various actions of the cells.

4. Step 4

The forming plate is then molded using a forming tractor to obtain the required thickness and width, after which it can be cut into shape. This stage mainly adjusts the thickness and width of the cardboard.

In the production process of extruded board, in addition to the main engine, various auxiliary equipment is also used, such as extruded board surface wool drawing machine, recycling granulator, edge forming machine, grooving machine, automatic packaging machine, etc.
