Government initiatives that support electrification and renewable energy adoption indirectly boost SiC demand. However, compliance with stringent environmental and safety standards in manufacturing can increase operational costs for producers. The regulatory environment, though complex, is largely supportive of SiC adoption, particularly in sectors aligned with national sustainability and technological goals.

In summary, while the US silicon carbide market faces hurdles in cost, supply, and regulation, these challenges are surmountable through innovation, policy support, and strategic investment. By overcoming these obstacles, the US can unlock the full potential of SiC, positioning it as a cornerstone material for the nation’s clean energy transition and technological leadership.
