Side Mounted Vacuum Circuit Breaker from Degatech

Shock resistance starts with geometry. The vacuum bottle is embedded in a one-shot epoxy pole that is bolted to a side-plate instead of a cantilevered rear frame, creating a closed triangular load path that absorbs lateral acceleration. Retrofits are crane-free. The 275 mm-wide cartridge slides through a 600 mm hatch and bolts to existing bus-bar spouts; crews can replace an ageing oil breaker during a single weather window and reuse existing copper, cutting downtime from 72 h to 12. After the swap, topside weight drops 1.2 t and auxiliary power 40 %, freeing deck space for new compression modules.
Environmental credentials complete the story.
