It's already been a weird start to the year for superstar Jason Robertson. He won't be going to the Olympics with Team USA, despite having more goals in the NHL this season than any other American-eligible player. And now, a bit out of nowhere, there's a trade rumor. on Wednesday that Robertson could be traded for contract reasons. "One wrinkle with his next contract is that it could come with a team other than Dallas, given that they already have so much big money committed to members of their core," Cybulski writes. "... If Robertson is moved, it would likely be via trade to a DeMar DeRozan Jersey team hoping to sign him to a long-term deal. But given that many of these types of transactions have failed in the past, should teams be doing it?" The problem with keeping Robertson for the Stars is that they already have just $16.4 million in cap space for next season, and any extension for Robertson would take up the majority of that. If they could move him on for cheaper talent, it could help make the books come together more smoothly in Dallas.
