This year had been going swimmingly for Ohio State coach Urban Meyer. Meyer became even more of a celebrity than he already was, being labeled by some as the greatest coach in the sport after earning his third ring. The offseason, however, hasn't been going quite as well for the Buckeyes' fearle s leader and that's certainly the case when it comes to a quick vacation this past week. Meyer is one of 2,500 pa sengers stuck in the Gulf of Mexico on a cruise ship that has been unable to pull into the Port of Tampa as a result of heavy fog in the area. The cruise ship is hosting the annual Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. "We are good. No worries," on Tuesday. "... However, we are ready to get home." The paper reports that weather estimates have the fog lifting at some point on Tuesday night, at which point the ship will be able to pull in and off-load pa sengers and crew. Meyer has been a big part of the ship's festivities to benefit the Urban & Shelley Meyer Fund for cancer research and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. Meyer reported that this year's edition has raised more than $2 million for the causes. People typically don't mind an extended vacation, but we're gue sing Meyer spent at least some of the extra time on the ship breaking down film of his current players, including some potential future NFL draft picks.
